This section is included for me to share examples of the many different situations a Loss Prevention professional finds themselves in. These are examples of over ten years of real life field experiences dealing with shoplifters. It is important to keep in mind that every apprehension has inherent dangers. It is my hope that by sharing this information, it might help someone new to the profession to learn that much quicker and be that much safer.
For the seasoned LP professional, maybe it will help to fine tune their skills and allow them to become a better mentor to others. They are in no particular order and each one taught me something new. They will have a debriefing at the end to explain what I learned from the situations. This is a vital step for anyone wanting to excel as quickly as possible. As a leader, I have always believed that one should review a situation after wards and determine what they could have done better.
